Submitting your vote is an expression of interest only — it is not a purchase order or a guarantee that a species will be imported. We use votes to decide which species to order.
Once we confirm which species will be ordered, interested clients are notified via WhatsApp. A pre-order requires a 50% deposit on the fish cost only (shipping is excluded at this stage). Your order is only secured once the deposit is received.
Pre-orders are subject to supplier confirmation. If a species is confirmed, a balance invoice for the remaining 50% of fish cost plus shipping will be issued. If a species is not confirmed by the supplier, your full deposit is refunded automatically — no questions asked.
Pre-order prices displayed are estimates based on current exchange rates. Final prices are subject to change based on the actual supplier invoice received after shipment. You will be notified of any price adjustment before your balance invoice is issued.
Shipping costs are calculated at the balance payment stage based on your chosen delivery method and address. Collection from our store is always free of charge. Shipping costs are non-refundable once a courier booking has been made.
All imported fish undergo a mandatory 2-week quarantine period after arrival. No collection or delivery takes place during this period. You will be notified via WhatsApp when your fish are ready.
If a species arrives dead on arrival at the airport, you will receive a full 100% refund of all amounts paid for that species, including any shipping already charged. We will notify you via WhatsApp immediately.
If fish die during the quarantine period, you will receive a full 100% refund of all amounts paid for that species. We take full responsibility for all losses during quarantine.
All refunds are processed via the original payment method. EFT refunds are processed within 3 business days. Card and online payment refunds follow your bank's standard reversal timeline.
Approved resellers are not required to pay a deposit. Payment is due in full on delivery. Reseller pricing is confirmed once the final supplier invoice is received after shipment. Resellers vote using their consolidated client quantities.
All species comply with the SA Alien and Invasive Species Government Gazette 2020. Species listed as invasive under List 7 (Invasive Fresh-water Fish) are excluded from our import lists. It is the buyer's responsibility to comply with any local municipal or provincial by-laws regarding the keeping of specific species.
SA Fish Breeders reserves the right to cancel or amend any import at any time due to circumstances beyond our control (supplier availability, import permit issues, airline capacity, etc.). In all such cases, all amounts paid will be refunded in full. By continuing, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
